"A happy house makes a happy dog"

Each and every pooch that enters our house is treated as one of our own. We pride ourselves in specialising in Schnauzers, however, most breeds are welcome at The Dog House. Although I am the main frame of the business; all of the family accommodates our canine guests. We often go out walking together as we are fortunate to be surrounded by some beautiful hotspots.  We like to keep to the same routine as you would at home in terms of feeding, walking & sleeping arrangements as this helps to alleviate any worry for you and your dog. If your dog sleeps upstairs at home, then that is the service that they will be offered here. 

We go out on day trips and are regulars at the Castle Grounds, Dosthill Park, Kingsbury Water Park, Barton Marina & Planters Doggy Café. The business is fully insured for your dogs to travel in my vehicles and we will supply the correct seatbelt restraints for them too. Whether it be camping in tents in one of our gardens, or splashing in the family swimming pool, your furry friends will be guaranteed a fab time at The Dog House!

We had two Mini Schnauzers of our own, Hugo our pepper/salt was 15 & 1/2 when he passed in March 2025. We lost DiDi, our white mini in November 2021, aged 13.  DiDi was our very own little National Champion. Our close family friend Chandrani Chapman mentored my 21year old daughter, Taylor, and  Didi throughout many fulfilling shows they took part in. They have lots of rosettes, not to mention some amazing memories. Taylor and I also managed the Standard Schnauzer stand in Discover Dogs at Crufts. We now have our pepper and salt Giant, Lady Sybbie. She's the momma dog and she loves all her furry friends. 

My son, Riley, who is 13 years old is a typical boy. He absolutely adores the dogs, particularly enjoying the ones he can roll around on the floor with and especially the sloppy kissers!  He regularly attends Schnauzerfest walks and doggy events with us all. 

My daughter, Taylor, is a big part of the Business, and all the Clients know her well. Taylor helps out in many ways, including the basic grooming of the dogs and dealing with the clients daily taking charge when I need to leave the house.

My husband Dan, is literally the local Builder. Dan adores the dogs which is just as well as he has no choice really! Dan will fix anything in the house, he is also well known for erecting a new annexe in the garden, and even helps out my Clients at their houses. 

I've learnt a vast amount working with dogs, nothing teaches you better than the experience itself. I thoroughly enjoy my job, it brings different rewards daily, and each pooch arrives with their own uniqueness & quirks which makes it even more interesting.
