Unfortunately we only accept dogs that are spayed or neutered. If you have a puppy, then we will work with you to care for & train the pup until they are of an acceptable age to be neutered. Depending on the breed, this would be a minimum of 12 months old, & not before. Please DO NOT neuter a puppy in order for them to use our services. Unfortunately we can not take a bitch in season.
It is part of our licensing conditions that every client & their dog(s) attend a pre booked meet & greet at our house, before agreeing to any services we offer. It's all very informal, appointments can last up to 30-40 mins. This enables me to informally measure your dogs behaviour, so I am fully educated as to which dogs they can associate with. If you are worried about how they will settle, you can also book your dog in for 1-2 days daycare or a one night sleepover before your holiday, This is a particularly good idea if your dog has separation anxiety, is of a nervous disposition or has never been left before. It gives your dog great piece of mind that you are indeed going to come back for them. We do not like to take risks, if I feel any dogs mixed together will not get on, then I'm afraid your booking will be declined. The dogs safety is paramount & will always be our priority. We will however, happily recommend other local boarders that you may find better suited to your needs.
Unfortunately due to my grooming and walking schedule, with the dogs it is not possible for half days to be accommodated for at this stage.
Unfortunately I am not insured appropriately to be able to offer any work experience placements, students, extra staff or volunteers.
I (Toni) am fully licenced (5 stars) by Tamworth council. My registration number is LN/3965. I am also Canine First Aid Qualified with up to date qualifications. My Insurance is covered by Protectivity, this covers the Daycare, Boarding, Grooming & travelling in my vehicle.
8am - 7pm Mon - Sun
We try to be as accommodating as possible, all that we ask is, if a time is agreed, please try & stick to it, as my day will be planned around the times you give me. If your times need to change, please let me know as soon as you can. Our prices are based on 24hrs, anything over 24hrs will be charged at £3 per hour (one dog)
We are not Kennels, and do not have any kennels. We have crates available for dogs that choose to use them, at their own free will. Our house is their house during their stay and they are treated as one of our own. Other than upstairs (during the day) the dogs have free roam of the house & both the gardens.
We are not insured to care for ANY animal listed under The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. Upon the advice of our Inspector; we WILL NOT take any new dogs over, what we consider a medium height, as we have a reactive (mainly to men) large Labradoodle on Daycare, unfortunately he does not like bigger breeds. He has been our Client since Day 1 & he will take priority I'm afraid. I understand you will respect my decision for the safety of your dog. Please only apply if your dog is neutered & of small - medium size.
Where will my dog sleep at night?
We keep the same routine as you do at home whether your dog sleeps in a crate in the kitchen, on the sofa or in your bedroom we try to keep the same routine as much as possible. I quite often take dogs upstairs with us. It's more reassuring for them & I stand a good chance of getting some sleep.
What do I need to bring?
Forms will need to be completed prior to your booking. Proof of vaccinations is also required. Please bring their regular food, bed and any personal items you may want them to have . . . . . & let us do the rest
We are in the heart of Dosthill Village in Tamworth, Staffordshire. We are fortunate to be close to Dosthill Park, Tamworth Castle Grounds, as well as local attractions like Kingsbury Water Park & Middleton Lakes.
Proof of Lepto (yearly) & DHP (3yrly) will need to be provided. We DO NOT require Kennel Cough. We do also accept Titre tests.
Indeed, we are 100% secure, every door or gate that opens to an external area is double gated to create an airlock, to keep the dogs secure. We have full CCTV covering all outside areas, with live stream feeds in the house & on all of our phones. We also have two completely separate gardens, which allows us to separate the dogs in cases of illness, or even when 'time out' is needed, with an inside & outside area each, We have 5 exit doors on the ground floor to enable us to manoeuvre around the house without the dogs swapping rooms or coming into contact with each other.
Our paperwork asks for your permission for us to be able to take your dog to the vets, if required. The 1st point of call would be to contact the owner. Depending on the circumstances & distance of your registered vet; I may decide to take your dog to a vet in Tamworth. I am currently registered at 2 vets, one of which is open on Saturdays.
Highly unlikely. We have a bank of 16 dogs on permanent daycare Contracts. 2 of these are full timers, & the others attend 1-2 set days per week. I am also a Groomer, most of my grooming Clients are my daycare & boarding Clients too. I do have just Grooming Clients, over the 10 years I have been operating, the dogs have all met & played together. We don't keep daycare or boarding separated. We're all friends here.
All dogs will have a minimum of 2 x 20min walks per day. If a Client specifically states they don't want their dog walked, extra enrichment activities will be offered. We quite often walk out in a big group as a family. If I am walking on my own, I will only walk 2-3 dogs at one time. Dogs will have a separate ID Tag attached to their attire whilst we are out walking, this is part of my license conditions to keep your dog safe & secure. We will only allow dogs to be off lead if we feel we have built a rapport enough to be trusted to recall, we also hire secure fields.
Not necessarily. We are fully equipped with high value nutritional treats. We do not give Raw Hide, & neither will we if you provide it. I'm not a fan of Dental sticks. All the treats we buy are either natural or have exceptionally good ingredient's. My dog is raw fed & allergic to Chicken & root vegetables.
Our Giant Schnauzer is raw fed. We have a separate under counter freezer just for the dogs food. We have a counter top mini fridge to keep daily feeds in. We have scales to weigh out feeds, we also have every type of feeding bowl you can think of, including snuffle mats & Licky pads. If your dog is raw fed, we ask that you let us know, just so I can save a drawer for you in the freezer, as I bulk buy my dogs food.
We are accustomed to dealing with varied diets. We have a full time daycare client that has allergies to everything. We ask that you let us know in order for us to accommodate your dogs stay more appropriately.
